Grodino winner BWG-finals16 june 2015This Sunday afternoon in Haaksbergen the KWPN approved stallion Grodino
was crowned champion of the first edition of the BWG young horses competition. Grodino, ridden by Tom Brinkman,
won the four-year-olds competition with a 8.5 for the way of jumping and
a 7.5 for being ridden. "What a nice horse that is. A very compact horse,
in the manner of jumping. I mean by that he is always well collected. He
is a bit sensible and showed some resistance in the mouth in the turn to
the right, but furthermore it was very good, "says Nanning. Moreover the 8 for riding is the maximum score that was possible to
achieve this afternoon. "We also have announced that we would not go above
8 for the riding. With an 8 you indicate that you are dealing with a horse
that is nice to ride. I think we have to continue to assess a jumper and
it should not be a riding assessment. It must not be possible that a horse
with a 7.8 for jumping and 9 for riding wins the test," Nanning explains. Afterwards Wim Schröder expressed himselve enthusiastic that the competition
surely will be continued in 2016. "The equestrian sport in Twente is at
such a high level. We want the breeders to be more involved with it. It's
nice for them to compare their horses with peers and everybody immediately
learns from the jury commented. For ourselves it also was interesting to
see some young horses in the ring several times." Back
