Three stallions approved!01 november 2004A big success for Stal Horn on the last day of the KWPN-fall stallion performance test in Ermelo. Three stallions were approved: Ultime Espoir (v. Chellano Z), Upgrade (v. Heartbreaker) and Ustinov (v. Libero H). Here you can read a short description of the report that the stallions got from the judges: Ultime Espoir (Chellano Z x Laeken x Fort de la Cour x Uriel) This Grandson of the Holstein stallion Contender was remarked for his sport horse conformation, beautiful type and charisma. The stallion has a spacious and very light-footed canter and his jumping is characterized by a very good take-off, bending the front leg the way it should be. Ultime Espoir is a very careful horse, light-footed and with a lot of scope. The horse has a very good character and is very willing to work. The motherline of Ultime Espoir is totally French, bred out of world famous horses. Laeken is known as father of Champion du Lys, who with Ludger Beerbaum earned big success in international jumping. Grandmother Ostande (v. Fort de la Cour) jumped national classes herself and got an ISO of 153. Further in the motherline we see the mare Havane, a daughter of the famous Uriel, who had 3 other offspring. All offspring of Havane jumped at national level. Upgrade (Heartbreaker x Pilot x Fruhling) Upgrade is a son of the famous jumping stallion Heartbreaker, who was very succesfull with Peter Geerink in the saddle. The bay stallion can be characterized as a very complete stallion who has a lot of qualities in both jumping and moving. His light-footed, spacious and balanced canter were highly praised. The interestingly bred Heartbreaker-son has a good bascule, limberness and a lot of scope. Upgrade descends from a Westfalian mother-line where we find the stallions Pilot and Frühling. Especially Pilot is very well known as father of many jumping horses. Priamos (Ludger Beerbaum) and Pialotta (Rolf Göran Bengtsson) are only 2 examples, that were among the best jumping horses of the last decennia. In Holland we mainly see Pilot in the mother-line. International jumping stallions like Oklund (v. Holland) and Lupicor (v. Lux Z) are out of a Pilot-mother. Ustinov (Libero H x Nimmerdor x Marco Polo) The Libero H-son Ustinov doesn't really need explanation. He showed his abilities at the stallion show in 's Hertogenbosch 2004, where he convinced everyone and became champion of his year. The qualities of this stallion were proven at the performance test, where he got 8,5 for every jumping component and his canter. His canter is fantastic, light-footed, balanced and supple. His jumps are characterized by a fast take-off, using his body the way we want it and good bascule. He jumps very easily and shows a lot of scope. Ustinov has much to very much as a jumping horse and gives his rider a good feeling. Out of the motherline of Ustinov we know a couple of international jumping horses. Grandmother Silja (v. Marco Polo) gave birth to international jumper Dragster (v. Wellington) - Marcus Renzel. The Grand Prix horse Vasco da Gama (v. Quito de Baussy) - Astrid Wöss is directly related to Ustinov's mother Haifa. Back
